UGC NET
University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test
UGC NET is conducted by NTA in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across a broad range of subjects. It determines eligibility for two categories: appointment as Assistant Professor in Indian universities and colleges, and award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for funded doctoral research. Paper I tests general teaching/research aptitude (common to all subjects); Paper II is subject-specific. Qualifying marks and cut-offs for NET and JRF are published after each exam.
