Joint Entrance Examination Advanced
JEE (Advanced) is the entrance exam for undergraduate programmes at the 23 IITs, with seats allocated through JoSAA. Indian candidates must first rank among the top 2,50,000 in JEE (Main); foreign nationals register directly and compete for supernumerary seats, up to 10% of each programme’s seats. It is a computer-based test of two compulsory three-hour papers, each with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics sections.

Eligibility
Indian nationals and OCI/PIO (I) candidates must be among the top 2,50,000 in the JEE (Main) B.E./B.Tech. paper and meet the other conditions (age, the year they first sat Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, and no earlier IIT admission); foreign nationals and OCI/PIO (F) candidates register directly, without JEE (Main), subject to their own age and Class 12 conditions. A maximum of two attempts, in two consecutive years.
