IBPS Common Recruitment Process for Probationary Officers/Management Trainees (CRP PO/MT)
IBPS PO is the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection's Common Recruitment Process for Probationary Officers/Management Trainees in the participating public sector banks listed in each notification (11 for CRP PO/MT-XVI, for 2027–28 vacancies). It has four stages. First comes an online Preliminary exam in English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability, and each test must be qualified. Next is an online Main exam of four objective tests plus a descriptive English paper. Shortlisted candidates must then take a non-qualifying Personality Test, followed by an interview conducted by the participating banks. Final merit weighs the Main exam and the interview 80:20. For each wrong objective answer, a quarter of that question's marks is deducted. Successful candidates are provisionally allotted to a bank on merit and preference. The process expires one year after provisional allotment, or when a fresh allotment is made, whichever is earlier.

Preliminary: 100 (each of the three tests must be qualified). Main: 200 (objective) plus 25 (descriptive). Interview: 100. Final merit weighs the Main exam and the interview 80:20. A quarter of a question's marks is deducted for each wrong objective answer.
Eligibility
Bachelor's degree in any discipline, with the result declared by the registration closing date (21 July 2026 for CRP PO/MT-XVI). Age 20–30 as on 1 July 2026, with category relaxations per the notification. Open to Indian citizens, and to certain others listed in the notification who hold a Government of India eligibility certificate.
