The University of Bristol is a public research university in Bristol, England, established by Royal Charter in 1909 with roots in University College, Bristol (1876). It is a member of the Russell Group of research-intensive UK universities and is organised into faculties spanning engineering, health and life sciences, science, social sciences and law, and arts. The university operates a medical school (with applicants assessed via the UCAT) and a law school (which uses the LNAT for undergraduate law entry).
