Duolingo English Test

A computer-adaptive English test taken online at home on a Windows or Mac computer, with results within two days (within 12 hours with the paid Faster Results option). You need the Duolingo English Test (DET) desktop app, a webcam, a microphone and speakers, and a smartphone as a second camera. Duolingo says the test is accepted by 6,500+ institutions worldwide; acceptance and minimum scores vary by university, programme and level — in Duolingo's own accepting-institutions search, for example, Georgia Tech and the University of Toronto list it for undergraduate admission only — so check each institution's own English-requirements page. The certificate is valid for two years from the test date.
